Pancakes are the best thing that could have happened to the world in terms of food. And peanut butter is right behind them.
Now imagine what a combination of both of these would be like.
Oh, wait you don’t have to!
All you have to do is go to your favorite food app, open a collection of their best and easiest pancake recipes and just type peanut butter pancakes, and you will enter the peanut butter kingdom :).
The great thing about this peanut spread is it goes great within extremely calorie-packed recipes and those on the other side of the spectrum: the healthiest ones.
Pancakes and Peanut Butter
Prior to going into actual recipes, let’s see what all of them have in common, just for you to get familiarized with the process.
Whenever you want to add peanut butter to your regular pancakes, you must know that it calls for buttermilk, milk or yogurt just to make for that moistness and softness a pancake should have. And more often than not whole wheat flour takes the floor instead of the regular all-purpose one since its nutty flavor complements that of the peanut butter and their combination is heavenly good!
Chocolate Peanut Butter Pancakes
A combination like this one is bound to be D E L I C I O U S.
The sweetness of the chocolate goes hand in hand with that nutty almost salty one of peanut butter. Believe me, once you try a bite of the Reese’s Syrup and Double Chocolate Pancakes, you will not be able to stop yourselves until you’ve finished off your plates.
Healthy Peanut Butter Pancakes
But, as I mentioned earlier, this spread goes perfectly well with healthy recipes as well. Let’s get the Peanut Butter Pancakes with Bananas and Chia recipe as an example.
The bananas and chia seeds alongside the peanut butter make for a great texture and what’s more, once you’ve eaten a stack, you will feel full and energized. So, no wonder these are great for breakfast, whereas the first ones are a good choice for a dessert or a birthday breakfast.
Either way, they wouldn’t have tasted the same without the peanut butter.
Somewhere in between healthy and not so healthy are the Peanut Butter Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie Pancakes. Ok, they are more on the healthy side since they include oats, so because of this quality, they are in the category of the healthy ones.
And, to make them even healthier replace the milk and buttermilk for a dairy-free version and you are good to go. This will make up for the fact that you will be using chocolate chips J. (ok, they are semi-sweet, but yet, it is chocolate people!)
Leave your regular pancakes aside, these recipes are a great change of pace, plus, it is yet another chance to start using more peanut butter, and that is a definite yes in my book.
